Tororo  is one of traditional nourishing food in Japan. According to "Tokaidochu-Hizakurige", one of best comic novel in Edo period, written by Jippensha Ikku in early 19th century, main character tried to eat Tororo in the post town in Mariko.

And Hiroshige Utagawa printed Tororo shop in Mariko. Besides, even more Basho composed haiku about memory of Tororo in Mariko too.

So, if you go old post town of Mariko, which is now called Suruga ward, Shizuoka, you must try Basho's Tororo!

Basho's Tororo aside, I had it in Ibaraki Pref... Of course, It was so tasty and enjoyed with delicious some Sashimi!
