The Tokyo Tower is one of the symbol of Showa high economic growth. In 1953, NHK, public broadcaster in Japan, started routine TV broadcasting. And after the commercial broadcasting started, there were 3 broadcasting towers height 100m class in Tokyo by NHK, NTV, and TBS. As Television prevail, officials in Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications believed necessary about intensiveness of broadcasting towers in Tokyo. So, they start the super height broadcasting tower project for Showa high economic growth, age of whole nation watching TV show.

And today, Tokyo Tower handed over its role as broadcasting tower to the Tokyo Skytree. Now, it shows us the viewing Showa high economic growth, when this country grew highly like tower building.
